Those few minutes......

It was quite. It seemed like the only sound was that of their heartbeats. Were they the only two people there? How did the sounds of the world suddenly seem so far away?

She could hear the blood rushing in her ears and she knew she looked flushed. His face was set, yet a small smile played on his lips. Was he thinking about last time? That made her want to smile too. She almost forgot her nervousness.  An urge to giggle suddenly caught hold of her. They moved closer. Ok… she was nervous again. Now she didn’t feel giggly. Closer still…

“This is the last time I am letting you come late”, the voice boomed as he pushed the door open. Both of them  stood with sheepish expressions. “Settle down quickly”

SHOULD stop being late, she thought.
